Staying in the Historical Junior Suites on the 17th floor in the Malulani tower building provided a breathtaking view of Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head & The Pacific Ocean, although the rooms felt a bit damp. The service, which included arranging a move to the sister Sheraton property next door with an upgrade for my parents' anniversary, was top-notch and very accommodating. The location was incredible, offering divine surroundings with convenient beach access and proximity to the main mall of Waikiki, despite some inconvenience with kids running around. Dining options were a bit limited and overpriced, but the facilities overall were decent.

The hotel offers a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms, ranging from the Historic Garden King to the Oceanfront Balcony in the Mailani Tower, were decent but on the smaller side with average fixtures. Service was exceptional, except for the valets/bellhops. The location is superb, close to Waikiki beach, shopping, and nightlife. However, the dining experience fell short of expectations in the Mailani Tower lounge. Overall, a stay with ups and downs.

Rooms

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms were spacious with a classical touch and had high ceilings, which was convenient for unpacking. However, they were not quite 5-star quality. The service was universally excellent with designated waiter service but the transportation took a lot of time. The location was great, right in the heart of Waikiki, offering a stunning view of the beach. The dining experience had great food, but the prices were a bit steep. Overall, a mixed experience but with some notable highlights.

I absolutely loved my stay at the hotel! The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. The location was perfect, right in the heart of Waikiki, offering both convenience and a peaceful oasis. The dining experience could have been better, but overall, a fantastic place to stay.

Rooms

The rooms were well tended by cleaners and very comfortable and spacious, even though we had just a garden view in the 'Historic' wing.

The hotel is in a great spot, allowing for a real getaway while being steps away from Waikiki's fun. The rooms are on the small side, and the bathrooms are even smaller, but they overlook a lovely entrance garden. The staff, from room cleaning to valet service, is friendly and accommodating, although a bit inexperienced for some guest needs. The location offers access to the pool next door if not the infinity pool, and the lovely gardens are perfect for wandering or enjoying a mai tai. The dining experience at the outrigger is not quite up to the Royal Hawaiian level. Overall, a nice hotel with some room for improvement.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms are small, but clean, and include essential amenities like a refrigerator, in-room safe, TV, and bath products. The view overlooking the entrance garden adds a nice touch.
Service
7.0
The staff, while friendly and pleasant, may lack some experience in handling guest needs efficiently. However, service from room attendants to restaurant servers was generally welcoming.
Location
8.0
The location offers a perfect balance of seclusion and access to Waikiki's attractions. The proximity to various dining and shopping options is fantastic, although the hotel lacks some exclusive amenities.
Dining
6.0
The dining at the outrigger could use some improvement to match the expected standard of the Royal Hawaiian. The timing and variety of offerings may need enhancement.
Facilities
The hotel provides essential facilities, although there's room for enhancement in the dining experience and overall service quality.

I was delighted with the hotel's prime location, just steps away from the beach and surrounded by fantastic dining options. The rooms, although lacking a view in the historic wing, were spacious and comfortable, complete with a well-equipped bathroom and a charming small porch. On the downside, the noise from the air conditioning unit was quite disruptive during the night.

Rooms
8.0
The room I stayed in was large and comfortable, boasting a well-equipped bathroom and a lovely small porch with a delightful view.
Service
7.0
The service provided by the Marriott Elite staff at this San Antonio hotel was exceptional, making the $36 resort fee feel worthwhile despite the exhaustion from dealing with the general public.
Location
9.0
The location was superb, being right on the beach and conveniently situated on the main street close to a plethora of restaurants and shops.
Dining
5.0
Unfortunately, the dining experience was subpar with budget-friendly but disappointing offerings full of sugar and fat, lacking freshness and healthy options.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel's facilities were adequate, catering to various needs such as room service, car hire, housekeeping, valet parking, and tours/ticket assistance.

The location was excellent, right on the beach with a beautiful view of Diamond Head. The dining experience offered a variety of options but was unfortunately unavailable during my stay.
